Resolved Question: Desert Horned Lizards Question?

I was give 3 California desert horned lizards from a guy in Perris, CA. I guess they're native to that area. I have been feeding them crickets and they eat em up like crazy. But i also heard it is NECESSARY to feed them Harvester Ants. I read that harvester ants make up 60%-90% of their diet. But i also read some species can survive without em. Not sure which of the 14 species i have but they're really thorny! Is it absolutely necessary to feed my Horned Lizards Harvester Ants if they are already happily feeding on crickets??
